So you have decided to book a bouncy castle and you will want to ensure  that the equipment you hire is safe for your family, friends and guests. There are many thousands of operators who will hire you a bouncy castle but not all are as they seem. Prices also vary considerably and cheapest is not always best or safest

When you contact an operator make sure you ask the following questions:

1) Do your units have a current safety certificate?

2) Do you have Public Liability Insurance? (Ask to see a copy)

3) Does your insurance cover me if we have an accident? (Be aware that it is unlikely that an operators insurance policy will cover you unless it is staffed by the operator or member of the companies staff)

4) Will you confirm my booking in writing? (If you are not offered a written confirmation be very careful)

5) Will you tell me how to operate the unit safely? (Operators should issue written instructions on the safe operation of the unit and what to checks to run for the duration of the hire)

6) What happens if it is raining on the day of my hire?

7) Is the unit suitable for adults?  (In general terms most inflatables are suitable for up to 14 years. Over this age you will require an adult unit. The construction of adult units is totally different to standard units)

Inflated News offers free advice to potential hirers who have concerns about hiring and supervising bouncy castles. It can be a mine field so feel free to contact the Inflated News office if you require assistance.
